Questions, Answers & Prayer:
If Jesus says, the first command is “to love God wholeheartedly,” & the second is “to love my neighbor as myself; why is:
“Do not fear,”
the Bible command given most?
That’s an insightful question.
Satan uses fear of hurt, loss, sorrow & pain to destroy faith.
God made men to face & deal with such on the path of faith.
Fear destroys faith. Men ruled by fear cannot exercise faith.
So, God’s command, “Don’t fear,” if obeyed; enables me to pledge love God wholeheartedly & to love my neighbor as myself.
Love is the opposite of fear.
So, loving God casts out fear?
“(God’s) love casts out fear
(1 John 4:18).”
“God has not given (me) a spirit of fear but of power & of love
(2 Timothy 1:7).”
“Jesus, no matter what my circumstances are, help me not to be afraid, but to only hear, believe, speak & obey Your Word (Mark 5:36) Amen.”
“Help me to love You, Lord, with all my heart, soul, mind & strength. As Your love works in me, helps me also to love my neighbor as myself (Mark 12:30-31) Amen.”
