Eating: Let the Spirit Lead

It’s as if the U.S. has been a land occupied by those hostile to God. After decades, like the remnant in exile in Persia, return to God. Is there such a fast to guide us?

Ezra led exiles to fast & obey God for a safe journey back home thru land known for thieves & killers:

“Ezra proclaimed a fast…to humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him a safe journey for us, our little ones, & our livelihood. I was ashamed to request from (a foreign king)to protect us… Ezra told the king, “The hand of our God is favorably disposed to all who seek Him, but His power & anger are against all who abandon Him.” So we fasted & sought our God concerning this matter, & He listened to our pleading (Ezra 8:31-35).”’

The remnant chose God’s shield which gave them peace & safety.

“Then we journeyed from (Persia)…to Jerusalem…the hand of God was upon us, & rescued us from the…enemy & ambushes by the road…The exiles offered worship to God (Ezra 8:31-35).”

“Lord, we praise Your presence, power & promises. What You, Lord, did for Ezra & the remnant do for us again now. We pray & fast to lay hold of Your gracious willingness. We praise You for telling us the Ezra story so we know how You want us to pray & fast in frightening & dangerous times. Bring us to repent, revive & be restored: As we stay in faith focused on Your promises & great faithfulness. Amen.”

Partial Fast: Nov 2-9 or 2-23 (7 or 21 Day) 25 to 50% normal eating 2-9 or 2-23 each month Thru 2024 U.S. Elections & Feast of Tabernacles & Thru July 2025. If God’s people cry out for mercy & serve God with prayer & fasting through July 2025 then God’s mercy will triumph over judgment & America will stand with Israel.
