I don’t understand the need for total surrender? Can’t I put Jesus first & pursue my own desires?

I’m going to remind you of a familiar lesson that God mercifully restores to us:

In the story of Genesis 22:6-18 the father of our faith, Abraham, learned & experienced that "total surrender" leads us to "faithful obedience" which becomes the fountainhead for blessings not only for our own loved ones but for the river of blessings to every family & nation of the world.

By responding with confidence & obedience that God would provide a solution even when it seemed the promise was unlikely, he understood what only those standing in the grace of total surrender understand: That we don't bring about God's provision & blessing by chasing our own desires or demands but thru total surrender & by obeying faithfully.

“Lord, open my heart to know that Your blessings flow thru Your deep love for me. Help me love You & surrender to You fully & love others as You love me.”

“Help me be a fine example to my family of total surrender to You.

(Genesis 22:6-18) Amen.”
