Why does God test us? My friend said: It proves that God is evil.
God tests the strength of our faith so we’ll turn to Him & give Him a chance to make us stronger rather than accuse Him of being evil & running away.
God tests us & exposes our weakness so we’ll acknowledge it & turn to Him with sincerity & honesty & depend more than ever on His strength by asking Him to give us the courage, strength & wisdom to face & overcome the test. We become stronger by owning our frailty & completely depending on Him.
It’s like a young son climbing a steep hill with his father. The father tests the boys strength to make him stronger. He leads him to a steep ridge too high for the boy to leap over, alone. The boy takes ownership of his weakness by trusting & looking to the father for strength. The father stands firm above the steeper ridge & reaches down to take the boys hand. The boy focuses on the strength of his father’s hand.
The father points to the place above the ridge where the boy will land as he lifts the boy up & yells “jump!”…as He guides the boy to the place over the ridge. The boys confidence & strength increase from the father as the boy trusts his father more.
The devil is telling your friend that God tests us because he is evil. Your friend is choosing to believe the lies of the devil, rather than giving God a chance to show him the difference between God’s goodness & evil.
“Father, help me obey this. Jesus endured the cross & Job, Joseph & Paul, their severe tests: On account of the fact that they trusted & praised You. Ran to You with sincerity, honesty & boldness. Focused on Your hand’s strength. Allowed You a chance to increase their power, courage, & confidence. This’s the secret to obey a command for a lifetime: “Abide in Jesus.” Amen”
Partial Fast: Jan 2-9 or 2-23 (7 or 21 Day) 25 to 50% normal eating 2-9 or 2-23 each month Thru July 2025. If God’s people cry out for mercy & serve God with prayer & fasting through July 2025 then God’s mercy will triumph over judgment & remnant will stand with Israel.
