When Jesus said, “give & it will be given to you… running over,”

Is He saying give in order to get?

No! This verse applies not just to giving money but also applies to giving: forgiveness, mercy, patience, humility, & good will.

So, He’s teaching how giving applies to every area of life?

Yes! We get in order to give, we don’t give to get! While God graciously rewards our giving it’s not meant to be our motive.

God sees the heart’s response?

Yes! Jesus’s sermon, Luke 6:36-38, is “Give!” to those: Who ask. Who can’t pay back. Undeserving. Love to enemies. Hoping for nothing in return. Unthankful. The kind of treatment you want from others.

So, when we give out of a tender heart, the Spirit is enlarging our heart’s capacity to love more?

Yes! When our heart responds to the Spirit’s leading by giving to bless, God & others; our Heavenly Father blesses the giver with much more in return.

More, of each, than was given.
